I had always dreamt I would be the first person to discover the cure for cancer and I began my tertiary studies completing a Biomedical Science Degree at UWA. During the last semester of my final year, whilst struggling through 12-hour lab sessions, I felt that surely there would be better ways to achieve optimal health, and from here discovered my real passion; to promote healthy lifestyles through education and preventative approaches.
During my 5 years at Murdoch University pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Chiropractic and Bachelor of Chiropractic, I discovered that Chiropractic was a unique holistic therapy that approached healthcare in a non-invasive, drug-free and non-surgical way. Chiropractors work with the body that functions, heals and self-regulates. Today, I love nothing more than to help clients discover the wonders of Chiropractic care.
Being able to help someone get out of pain or accomplish things they never thought they would be able to do has been the greatest part of this journey and the benefits of Chiropractic care continue to amaze me every day. I am grateful that my profession has allowed me the opportunity to practice and assist people from all walks of life in their journey to health and wellness.
I am so excited to be part of Sleep Story, especially because these days, our bodies are increasingly being exposed to toxins that place a large load on our body to detoxify and self regulate to stay in a state of good health. And we all know sleep is a pre-requisite to being healthy! My two sons have grown up using Melody and they love their nightly spritz as part of their bed-time routine. This further affirms my belief that natural support will always be my first choice over potentially harmful prescription and over the counter medications.

From a young age I was exposed to the amazing healing benefits from using natural and alternative medicines. My mother was born on a small island in Polynesia where there was little to no access to all opathic medicine. As a result she used her traditional knowledge of herbs, plants and natural remedies to treat my brother and I growing up. With this passion for plant-based remedies I went on to study in the field of holistic medicine.
I have used essential oils for years, not only in my personal everyday life but also as a natural, non-invasive treatment option in clinic. Seeing the amazing results that they have produced has fuelled my passion for these plant extracted wonders. They are natural, smell amazing and, when administered properly, are effective and easy to use. The combination of high quality essential oils and specifically chosen crystals is key to the Sleep Story brand which encompasses the ideology that health involves the balance of mind, body and spirit.
The use of crystals is not solely for aesthetic purposes, although they do look beautiful. Crystals help to work on a deeper level than just the physical, to facilitate healing and the realignment of emotional and energetic imbalances to further support the actions of the essential oils.
Since being in practice, I have recognised a growing trend of sleep complaints as well as coinciding anxiety which in turn results in a number of additional health related issues. Using my qualifications in Naturopathy, Aromatherapy, Flower Essences, Herbal Medicine and Mind/Body Medicine, I have partnered with Sleep Story to create a range of products which are formulated to be safe and effective for the whole family and deliver the healing properties of nature into everyday self-care rituals.
All products are naturopath-formulated, crafted with love, made in small batches and sold in recyclable or refillable glass containers. We use pure and unadulterated essential plant oils and natural bases, no chemicals or additives. Every ingredient included in the products are there for a specific therapeutic reason. No use is made of synthetic or artificially fragrant oils in the synergistic blends. All formulas are original, created and tested by us, on real people — never on animals. We are extremely passionate about this new holistic venture and look forward to sharing these beautiful products.
